Mother's Day

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day!  I know Mother's Day is a special day to honor your mom and I definitely thought about how thankful I am to have such a great mom, a mother-in-law who is like a mom, and many special grandmothers in my life.  However, I have to say that I spent most of the day thinking about how grateful I am to be a mom!  Being Jolie's mommy is the best job in the world and I thank God daily for my sweet girl.  Last year on Mother's Day I so badly wanted to be a mom, and little did I know, that just a few weeks later we would discover that Jolie was on her way!  From this time last year until now has been the best year ever....the excitement and anticipation throughout my pregnancy and then the fun of getting to spend every day with Jolie.

We celebrated with my mom the evening before Mother's Day.  Nina and Jolie

We also celebrated my dad's birthday that night.

Then Papa pinched Jolie...

On Mother's Day morning Cole took some picture of me and my girl.

After church we had lunch with the Fords.  Mimi and Jolie

It was a special day for Jolie because she got to meet Grandmother Ford for the first time!

She also got to spend time with Grandmom!

I hope everyone else had a great Mother's Day too!  I hope to be back soon with lots of other recent pictures :)

Three Months

Yesterday, on Papa's birthday, Jolie turned three months!

It's amazing to me how much she's grown in the last three months!

These are some of the other pictures we took of Jolie yesterday.  I love how they show her little personality. (There is slight variation in her hair accessories throughout the pictures.  Jolie can wiggle out of a headband pretty quickly!)

Sweet smiles

When wearing a skirt or dress Jolie almost always holds onto the bottom of it. Please excuse her...I told her it wasn't very ladylike.

Wild hair during tummy time

This is what I see most these days.  She always has her fingers in her mouth!  It is not easy to get a picture of Jolie without her chewing on her hand.

Three-Month-Old-Jolie is so much fun!  She smiles all day long and has even laughed a couple of times.  She just gets more beautiful all the time and still has the best hair I have ever seen on a baby.  It is pretty unruly but, except for the crown of her head, is starting to lay down a little better.  Jolie holds her head up really well these days which has helped her to enjoy tummy time a little more than she did.  She can even sit in her bumbo seat for short amounts of time and seems to really like it.  Jolie is starting to really enjoy playing on the floor, especially kicking at the toys that dangle from her play gym.  She is also able to roll over now, both from tummy to back and back to tummy, and will always work her way off of the blanket I lay down for her to play on.  One of my favorite things about Jolie right now is how vocal she is.  She "talks" to us constantly.  She has also started fake coughing and thinks that it is pretty funny.  The thing Jolie dislikes the most right now is riding in the car.  She doesn't really mind being in her car seat when at church or in the stroller just in the car.  I am pretty sure it's just because she's alone back there! Jolie is still a great sleeper!  She moved to her own room a few weeks ago.  She's been ready for a while, but mommy and daddy weren't.  Jolie has been doing great in her room and is sleeping from around 10:30 pm until about 6:30ish.

We just adore our little girl and can't believe how quickly she is growing.  We are looking forward to lots of fun times this summer when Cole gets a break from school. Only 18 more school days!

The Sweetest Sound

Jolie thought Nina was pretty funny Friday night!  I love listening to that little laugh!

Good Morning Jolie!

Aside from evenings when Cole gets home from work, mornings are my favorite time with Jolie.  She wakes up so sweet!  Every morning she is full of smiles and loves to talk.

Jolie's First Easter

We had a great Easter Sunday.  We went to church and then spent the afternoon with family.

Jolie was all dolled up!

The Sharbine Bunch- We were so glad that both of my sisters were able to come home for the weekend.

Gran and Granpa came to church with us.

We did lunch and an Easter egg hunt with all the Roseberrys.

Then we went to Mimi and Pops house for more fun.

Mimi and Pops with the grandkids, just missing little Drayton...Getting this picture was a pretty comical event.

It was a wonderful day celebrating the hope we have in Christ and spending time with all the people we love.

Two Months!

On Friday Jolie turned a big two months!
I loved both of these pictures.

She looks so much older than she did just a month ago.

We went to the doctor this morning, and Jolie weighs 11 pounds 11 ounces (about 75th percentile) and is 23 3/4 inches long (over 90th percentile).  She also had to get shots...she was not happy about it!  The doctor said Jolie looks great :)

Jolie is just so fun right now!  She smiles and coos more and more every day.  I love that she knows her mommy and daddy and smiles so sweetly when we talk to her.  Jolie is also getting stronger.  She holds her head up pretty well and enjoys standing in my lap (with a little help, of course).  She has even rolled over a few times, but I think that they were flukes because she hasn't done it again in a few weeks.  Jolie has also become a great nighttime sleeper!  She usually sleeps one 6-7 hour stretch at night.  I am very grateful that she is sleeping through the night!  It is really fun to watch Jolie become more alert and aware of her surroundings.  She is always looking around, taking it all in.  Jolie especially loves to stare at ceiling fans and light fixtures.  Lately she seems to notice our dog, Ranger, more, too.  Jolie's eyes often follow him as he walks around the house.  It is so amazing to watch Jolie grow and learn new things!

Easter Bunny

Jolie went to visit the Easter Bunny!  These pictures crack me up.  She completely sunk into his arms and looks like such a chunk!

Happy Easter!
